Joe grew up in Southern California, obtained an engineering degree at UCLA, and then moved up to the Bay Area to pursue a Masters in Computer Science at Stanford University. His journey to Northern California led him to become part of New Life Community Church where he has been since 2015. At New Life, Joe met and married his wife Lindsey. The two of them and their son and two daughters live in Santa Clara.

Joe served for several years as the leader of New Life’s college ministry at Santa Clara University (New Life on Campus) and also works as a software engineer specializing in back-end infrastructure. He holds a Masters of Arts in Biblical Studies from Moody Theological Seminary.
