Josh Amano

Josh grew up in Southern California and completed his undergraduate studies in physiological science at UCLA. While there he served for three years with the UCLA Mobile Clinic Project (a medical outreach to homeless individuals) and has experience in stroke, schizophrenia, and thyroid cancer research. During college, Josh oversaw the evangelistic outreach ministry of Grace on Campus (Focus Bible Study), which sought to equip believers in skills in apologetics and relational evangelism.

After arriving at New Life, Josh served as the church’s full-time administrator and worship leader. He also established our campus Bible study at Santa Clara University (New Life on Campus) where he taught weekly, discipled students, and trained future leaders. At present, Josh oversees our music team and men’s ministry and works a physician assistant in vascular surgery and neurosurgery. He is happily married to his wife Jessica, and they are proud parents to their son. In his free time, Josh enjoys experimenting with new recipes, hunting down popular eats on Yelp, and writing songs he’s too embarrassed to sing publicly.
